I am wondering if there is a method in Renzi’s approach to things. A method aiming to get explicit controversies following his actions, finalized to amplify the media impact they have.
Otherwise why he did a good thing like pulling the plug to the almost paralyzed Letta government only after having vocally vowed loyalty to it, and why now he did a great thing like positioning a considerable number of women as chairperson of the top Italian companies, but picking few with obvious interest conflicts?

Ms Marcegaglia and Ms Todini are for sure better and more prepared than many former chairmen, but owning their own company (that is still true for Ms Marcegaglia) is a fertile turf for conflicts and recriminations. Weren’t there more pure managers like Patrizia Grieco available?
Anyhow, I believe it is a great rupture, and if the theatrical tongue for controversies is an unavoidable part of the show, it is likely an ok price to pay… but I keep hoping we could start doing the right things… right.
